Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian metalware, produced during the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, frequently draws inspiration from earlier Georgian and neoclassical motifs, showcasing lighter, more refined ornamentation compared to heavy Victorian pieces.

These pieces are typically constructed from sterling silver sheets shaped over a wooden or papier-mache core, featuring velvet or watered silk backing boards supported by folding silver struts.

Authenticity is verified by examining the hallmarks stamped on the metal, which typically include a makers mark, a standard mark for sterling silver, a city assay office mark such as the Chester hallmark, and a date letter specific to the year of manufacture.

Such pieces add a touch of reflective metallic sheen when placed on mantelpieces, sideboards, or dressing tables, mixing effectively with both minimalist modern decor and traditional spaces.

Silver frames should be cleaned sparingly using a specialized non-abrasive silver cloth to maintain the patina, avoiding harsh liquid dips that can damage underlying structural adhesives or backing materials.
