Exquisite Edwardian Silver Single Sovereign Case by Dennison, Birmingham 1905

1900 - 1920
Description

This delightful and rather unusual Edwardian solid silver single sovereign case was made by the prolific Dennison company. Of circular form, both front and back with fine engine-turned decorations. The front with a stylised vacant roundel. The sprung hinged cover operated by a push button. Opens to reveal a spring loaded compartment. Suspension loop to the top. Snaps shut beautifully.

All sprung mechanisms in good order.

Hallmarks:

Inner cover fully hallmarked.

Sovereign frames with date letter and Lion Passant.

A.L.D. for Dennison Watch Case Co

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "f" for 1905.

Dimensions:

Diameter: 3.5cm / 1.4 inches.

Height: 1.5cm / 0.6 inches

Weight: 22.3 g / 0.78 ounces.

Condition:

Very good.

Sprung mechanisms in very good order.

Push button in very good order.

Snaps shut nicely.

Strong hinge.

Maker's marks very clear.
