Gold Bronze French Lantern

Description

A Beautiful Versailles style French Lantern foundry cast in bronze.

The Heraldic style has a voluptuous and large crown on the top of a thick, chunky one piece glass crystal shade skillfully hand cut with criss cross bevelled lines.

The base has very detailled lion faces, finished with a shapely knop.

This fitting retains an original patina giving it a warm antique feel.

Three screws hold on the base for easy and convenient bulb changing.

Excuisite detailing is allso fearured on the chain and ceiling cup.

Declaration

Birkdale Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
