Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The George III period spans from 1760 to 1820, characterised by classical proportions, refined craftsmanship, and a transition from heavy walnut to rich mahogany as the primary timber.

These pieces typically utilised solid and veneered mahogany, hand-cut dovetail joints in drawer construction, hand-blown cylinder glass, and traditional mortise and tenon framing.

Authenticity is indicated by period-correct timber grain, hand-planed secondary woods, original brass hardware or fixings, and subtle irregularities in the glass panes.

Pairing dark timber pieces with neutral wall colours, minimalist lighting, and a curated selection of books or ceramics creates a sophisticated contrast between traditional craft and modern design.

Maintain stable indoor humidity levels, keep the wood out of direct sunlight to prevent fading, and periodically nourish the surface with traditional beeswax rather than modern silicone polishes.
