Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco design, prominent during the 1920s and 1930s, is characterised by sleek geometric shapes, stylised motifs, and a combination of modern industrial materials with luxury finishes such as enamel and silver.

Guilloche enamel involves mechanical engraving of a precise pattern into a metal base, typically silver, which is then covered with translucent layers of coloured vitreous enamel to allow the patterned reflection underneath to show through.

Authentic pieces usually feature official assay office hallmarks stamped into the metal, indicating the standard of silver purity, the makers mark, and a date letter corresponding to the year of manufacture.

These pieces function well as desk accents or tabletop display items, offering a flash of colour and reflective texture when placed on top of stacked books, leather blotters, or wooden sideboards.

Enamel and silver items should be cleaned gently using a soft, dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. Harsh chemical dips, abrasive silver polishes, and ultrasonic cleaners must be avoided as they can permanently damage the fragile vitreous enamel.
