Stunning Pair of Gold & Large Amethyst Drop Earrings.

1940 - 1960
Description

This is a rather spectacular pair of vintage amethyst earrings.

Testing as 14ct yellow gold the marks on the wires have become fairly indistinct.

The stones catch the light incredibly due to the surface chequerboard cut on both sides of the pear drop shape.

The stones are mounted into bevelled wires of gold which swing freely from the gold “french wires” .

The earrings have overall drop of approx 29mm

The stones overall drop approx 17mm and widest girth approx 16mm.
