A beautiful German 800 solid silver card case. It is hallmarked with the German state marks, the 800 silver standard mark, and a makers mark. I would date it to c1895-1900. It has been superbly made being cast and engraved with a romantic castle scene and an 18th century man reading a smoking a pipe. It is in superb condition being free from dings, splits, holes and repairs. It measures over 3 inches (7.7cms) by 2.25 inches (5.7cms and weighs 83 grams. A beautifully designed high quality example.
