Nineteenth-century revival candelabra frequently draw inspiration from earlier Baroque and Rococo aesthetics, featuring flamboyant naturalistic motifs, heavy casting, and elaborate ornamentation designed to project opulence.

These items are typically constructed from cast brass or bronze, which was frequently finished with a layer of gold gilt or ormolu applied via mercury gilding or electroplating techniques popular during the period.

Authenticity is generally determined by examining the casting quality, patination, tool marks, and assembly methods, such as threaded rod construction and hand-chased details characteristic of nineteenth-century metalwork.

They can be used as striking focal points on dining tables, sideboards, or mantelpieces, contrasting effectively against minimalist or modern backdrops to add historical depth and metallic warmth.

Gilded surfaces should be cleaned very carefully using a soft, dry microfiber cloth to remove dust. Abrasive cleaners, chemical polishes, and excessive handling must be avoided to prevent stripping the delicate gold plating.
