Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian silver is characterised by lighter, often more ornate designs influenced by eighteenth-century motifs, reflecting the optimism and elegance of the early twentieth century before the First World War.

These pieces typically combine clear blown or moulded glass bodies with sterling silver mounts, often complemented by a matching silver spoon and hallmark stamps denoting the assay office and maker.

Authenticity is verified through clear hallmarks stamped on the silver rim or lid, which include the makers mark, the lion passant for sterling silver, the town mark for the assay office, and a date letter corresponding to the specific year of manufacture.

They make excellent display objects on a dining table or sideboard, adding a reflective metallic accent and historical texture to modern table settings or open shelving.

Use a specialized, non-abrasive silver polish strictly on the metal components while avoiding harsh chemicals on the glass, and wash the glass body gently in warm soapy water without submerging cemented silver mounts.
