During the Victorian era, smoking became a refined ritual among gentlemen, leading to the creation of specialised pocket tools crafted from precious metals to prepare cigars before consumption.

These accessories were typically forged from sterling silver, often featuring hand-turned bodies, internal steel cutting mechanisms, and detailed hallmarks denoting the maker, city, and year of assay.

Authentic pieces generally display crisp British hallmarks, natural age-related patination, and high-quality artisanal construction methods distinct from modern cast replicas.

These small objects make excellent additions to a study or living room when displayed inside a glass cabinet, on a decorative tray, or atop a gentlemans desk as a conversation piece.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a soft microfiber cloth and a mild, non-abrasive silver polish, taking care to preserve the original patina accumulated over time.
