Description

This IRISH ARTS & CRAFTS CARVED OAK BOOK STAND bears the label of THE BRAY ART FURNITURE INDUSTRY, BRAY, COUNTY WICKLOW.

The Bray Art Furniture Industry was a Co-operative Society formed in 1905, employing up to 50 Craft Workers whose works included domestic furniture from native woods.

The ends are beautifully carved with stylised Thistles and, what look to be Poppies, in the Arts and Crafts manner.

In good, original condition.
