This Art Deco ice bucket dates from 1930 and pairs a clear cut glass body with a silver-plated rim, carrying handle and matching talon tongs. The crystal bucket displays faceted diamond cutting, starburst motifs and floral patterns, complemented by a smooth polished metal rim and a curved swing handle attached via side joints. The accompanying silver-plated tongs exhibit textured bird claw terminals at each tip with slender curved arms meeting at a plain looped hinge. Practical dimensions measure 13 cm high by 12.5 cm wide by 12.5 cm deep. Today, this barware accessory serves entertaining spaces when placed upon a sideboard top, drinks trolley or cocktail cabinet. The piece is useful for holding ice during gatherings while offering a functional design with the claw-tipped tongs providing a secure grip. The clear transparency of the glass combines with the metallic silver plating to suit traditional and period interior schemes alike.

Ice buckets from the 1930s often feature geometric cut glass patterns combined with polished silver-plated rims and practical swing handles, reflecting the entertaining culture of the Art Deco era.

These pieces consist of heavy leaded or pressed glass deeply cut with geometric facets, topped with a silver-plated nickel or brass collar and handle secured around the rim.

Authentic interwar barware typically exhibits hand-cut sharp facets, noticeable weight, and electroplate hallmarks or maker marks stamped onto the silver-plated rim or handle.

Display the ice bucket on a bar cart, sideboard, or tray alongside vintage glassware and decanters to create a dedicated entertaining area.

Wash the glass body by hand using warm water and mild liquid detergent, taking care not to submerge the silver parts for extended periods, and polish the metal gentle with a soft silver cloth.
