The backboards are original. The sectional bookcase has been cleaned and wax-polished by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop, therefore the colour and patination are of a good standard. A Globe Wernicke bookcase is a modular, stacking furniture system featuring individual glass-fronted tiers designed originally for offices and libraries.

These pieces are typically constructed from solid oak or mahogany, featuring glass panes, brass hardware, and metal internal sliding mechanisms.

Authentic pieces often feature makers stamps, patent markings on the metal side clips, solid wood backs, and period-appropriate joinery and hardware.

Pair the warm timber tones with contemporary seating and minimalist decor to create a balanced study or living room aesthetic.

Maintain the timber by dusting regularly with a dry cloth and occasionally applying natural beeswax to nourish the wood and protect the finish.
