Robert Belcher Antiques has dated this Venetian Glass Ewer Set to the 1870s.
The body has a bulbous form with a tall slender neck which broadens into a shaped pouring spout from which the elegant curved and raised handle connects and returns onto the body with an impressive lion’s head mask. The ewer includes its original stand and a magnificent pair of large goblets which have a wonderful decorative hollow stem which is decorated again with lion’s head masks which are connected with a foliate wreath and there is a beaded boarder above and below. Each piece has been hand blown with great skill and is finished on the underside with a snapped of pontil which is normal for Venetian glass of this period. These fine pieces are all in excellent original condition with no damage, Circa 1870

Inside the jug, a handwritten piece of paper giving details and provenance from an early 19th-century collection is of interest.
