Edwardian inlaid mahogany pedestal desk
This Edwardian inlaid mahogany pedestal desk was made circa 1900.
Interestingly, it has a Druce & co brass plate inside the drawer showing it was purchased form their second-hand department. Druce & co were known for high end furniture and so this was to a quality that they were happy to put their name to. Obviously, it would only have been only 10 years old when this was resold.
The desk consists of 3 drawers along the top and a further 3 graduated drawers in each pedestal.
A proper antique desk will be made in 3 parts, this enables easy transportation in or around your home of office.
All the satinwood crossbanded drawers are finely inlaid, with swags and flowers.
The desk is finished all round so this can be used away form a wall if need be.
The antique red inset leather writing surface is gilt tooled and has a satinwood banding running around the border.
