Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a specialized, non-abrasive silver cloth to maintain the desirable patina, avoiding harsh liquid dips that can strip away original detailing and hallmarks.

Such small horological or desk accessories are ideally displayed on open bookshelves, atop a coffee table book, or within a glass-fronted cabinet to add historical detail and refined metal accents to a room.

Authentic pieces typically feature British hallmark stamps indicating the assay office, metal purity, and date letter, alongside makers marks characteristic of late-19th-century silversmiths.

Late 19th-century bookmarks frequently incorporated sterling silver for durability and sheen, often paired with organic accents such as mother of pearl, bone, or ivory for handles and decorative details.

During the Victorian era, reading became an increasingly popular pastime among the expanding middle classes, leading to a rise in decorative and novelty stationery items such as decorative page markers made from precious metals.
