Antique Uzbek Lakai tribe ilgich, dowry wall hanging for the yurt.

Circa 1900.

Ilgich are embroidered hangings that usually formed part of a brides dowry; they are talismanic and considered to be protective. This example is embroidered in silk on a red wool ground.

The condition is good with some very slight age related wear. The ilgich has been re-backed.
