Description

Technical Description

A superb Georgian Masonic engraved glass rummer dating to c1800.

A large pointed round funnel bowl engraved with the set square and compass, Moon, Stars and Sun. Sits on a very rare Drop Knop stem. Conical foot with a snapped pontil.

A very rare form and a great size of glass which can be used for anything from an Ale to a G&T. Sits very well in the hand.

Date & Origin

England, c1800.

Condition

Excellent, no chips, cracks or restoration. It does have two very thin small annealing faults in the foot, which are from manufacturing and the cooling process (not damage), this being an indicator of an early glass.
