Art Deco jewellery, prominent from the 1920s to the 1940s, is characterised by geometric symmetry, clean lines, stylised motifs, and a strong reliance on platinum paired with contrasting gemstones.

Pieces from this era typically utilized platinum or white gold settings, featuring hand-cut diamonds and gemstones secured with intricate milgrain detailing and channel or bezel settings.

Authenticity is determined by examining craftsmanship hallmarks, metallurgical composition, stone cutting irregularities consistent with period hand-tools, and professional laboratory certification for gemstone treatments.

An antique cocktail ring serves as a focal point and can be worn alone as a statement piece or paired thoughtfully with minimal contemporary bands to highlight its historical craftsmanship.

Preserve antique jewellery by storing pieces individually in soft-lined boxes, avoiding harsh ultrasonic cleaners on treated or unheated stones, and having settings inspected annually by a specialist jeweller.
