Wonderful mid Victorian 15ct gold & enamel photo locket
This locket is beautifully decorated with traditional foliate pattern centred with a black enamel cross
The reverse and bail of this superb high quality locket is also gold foliate decorated.
It opens to reveal a photo compartment to one side with photo of a Victorian lady
The other side is engraved ''In memory of A.F obt. 31 March 1874''
This is a very special mourning locket that is highly collectible
It is 4.1cm (1 5/8'') long including bale x 2.5cm ( 1 '')wide
Electrically tests 15ct gold
It dates to the mid Victorian period circa 1870
Weight 10.5 grams
It is in excellent condition for age - a few tiny scratches to the cross enamel that are not noticeable
It comes in the presentation box illustrated
