FAQs

A column table lamp is a lighting fixture designed with a vertical shaft resembling a classical architectural column, often featuring a base and capital inspired by ancient Greek or Roman orders.

Antique metal lamps frequently utilise brass, bronze, copper, or gilt metal, often combined with ceramic, marble, or wood elements to add weight and decorative contrast.

Authentic period lamps generally display traditional manufacturing methods such as casting seams, hand-cut screw threads, patination consistent with age, and older wiring components that require inspection.

Integrating a classical column lamp into a modern space provides a contrasting architectural element, working effectively on sideboards, consoles, or desks to introduce metallic warmth and height.

Vintage gilt metal should be dusted gently with a soft, dry cloth. Abrasive cleaners and chemical solvents must be avoided to prevent stripping the delicate metallic finish or gilding.
