S and S Timms Antiques Ltd has dated this Chippendale Mahogany Library Bookcase to the 18th Century.
Its construction is of the highest quality and all of the materials which have been used are the best that money would have been able to buy at the time.

As a result of the careful consideration in terms of design and the highly figured, rich mahogany timbers used, the bookcase boasts incredible elegance for a piece of furniture with such presence. Of course from a practical perspective the bookcase is a great size and boasts a huge amount of functional storage space.

It still retains its original brass swan neck handles as well as its original shaped bracket feet, which is a great feature and the solid blind panel doors are something much less frequently found than the more common astragal glazed variations.

Of course the bookcase has also retained a quite wonderful untouched colour and patina and just like all of the object which we offer for sale it has received a natural wax polish in our workshops to ensure it is in the best possible condition for placement straight into a home of office before being places on sale.
