Technical Description
An exceptional 19th century Dutch polychrome enamelled glass personal decanter, dating to c1890.
It has its original stopper with a small blue flower, green leaves and a red rim. The decanter is decorated with colourful flowers with a green, red and black geometric framework.
The base of the stopper and the base of the bottle have the enamelled number ''64'', which was a numbering system introduced in the early Victorian era to allow them to match stoppers, which were made to measure, to each individual decanter which were made in sets.
Comments
Very much in the ''personal decanter'' range holding 150ml (6 x 25ml measures). Would almost certainly have been used for gin but can be used for any spirit or liqueur. Sitting on the bedside, desk, or bar, a fantastic example and perfect as a gift.
