Description

Technical Description

An exceptional pair of 19th century glass wine carafes dating to c1870.

They have applied neck rings with different engraved ferns around the upper bowl and petal moulding to the lower bowl, leading to a polished pontil.

Each Carafe holds 700ml to the base of the neck ring so almost a bottle of wine.

Good period glass wine carafes are becoming increasingly difficult to find.

England, c1870

Condition

Excellent, no chips, cracks or restoration. Clean and clear internally.
