Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Arts and Crafts movement emerged in the late 19th century as a reaction against mass production, emphasising handcrafted quality, traditional techniques, and the integrity of materials.

Items from this period were typically crafted from solid sterling silver, often featuring hand-hammered or planished surfaces created manually by skilled silversmiths using traditional hammers.

Authenticity is verified through British hallmarks stamped directly onto the metal, which include symbols for the assay office, the standard mark (such as the lion passant for sterling), and a date letter corresponding to the specific year.

An antique silver vessel can be displayed as a standalone decorative object on a sideboard or mantelpiece, contrasting its reflective surface with organic textures such as wood or stone.

Antique silver should be cleaned infrequently using a non-abrasive silver polish and a soft cloth to preserve the patina, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can damage historical finishes.
