Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The George V era spans from 1910 to 1936, characterised by a continuation of traditional neoclassical and Edwardian motifs alongside the gradual introduction of early Art Deco influences, often featuring high-quality sterling silver production.

These items typically consist of a front sheet of sterling silver supported by a wooden backing, often oak or mahogany, covered in fabric such as velvet or moire silk, with integral silver hinges and struts.

Authenticity is verified by locating the official British hall markings, which include the makers mark, the lion passant for sterling silver, the town mark indicating the assay office, and the date letter corresponding to the specific year of assay.

Such pieces can be incorporated into modern spaces by placing them on mantelpieces, bookshelves, or desks to introduce polished metallic textures and historical contrast against minimalist or maximalist backdrops.

Preservation involves regular, gentle dusting with a soft microfibre cloth and occasional polishing with a specialised silver cleaner, avoiding abrasive materials and keeping the piece away from excessive moisture and direct sunlight.
