Anglo-Indian silver refers to items created in India during British rule, combining traditional Indian motifs and craftsmanship techniques with Western functional forms such as tea sets, beakers, and trophies.

These pieces were typically crafted from solid silver, often ranging from coin silver to near sterling purity, utilizing traditional manual techniques such as repousse, chasing, and hand engraving.

Authentic pieces often feature hand-hammered construction, variable silver purity without standard British hallmarks, artisan maker marks, and natural age-related patination within recessed details.

An antique silver beaker can be utilized as a refined desk pencil holder, a small vase for short-stemmed florals, or displayed amongst books on a shelf to introduce metallic texture.

Preserve antique silver by gently washing with mild soap and warm water when necessary, avoiding abrasive polishes that can wear away historic hand-chased details, and storing in a dry environment.
