This is a tall pair of Etruscan enamelled vases attributed to Harrach and dating from the middle of the 19th century, c1850. Similar vases are shown in “From Neuwelt to the Whole World: 300 Years of Harrach Glass” by Helena Bro Kova.

The vases are in excellent condition for their age. This means of course that they show age related wear and tear to the rims of the feet consistent with some 170 years of use.

The vases have baluster-shaped bodies measuring 7.8 cm (3.1 inches) in diameter at the pouring rims which feature rubbed gilded bands to the external surface. The vases are in white "frosted" glass decorated at the necks with a classic design in terracotta and black. The bodies are enamelled with mythical figures (probably deities) and scrollwork. The vases end in feet that measure 8.2 cm (3.3 inches) in diameter. They are 11 cm (4.4 inches) in diameter at their widest point. The vases are 30 cm (12 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any other obvious evidence of restoration. There are collector's stickers to the feet.

A nice pair of large vases, each weighing in at 600 g. (~ 1 lb. 5 oz.).

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
