Description

A rare pair of American antique solid sterling silver and cranberry glass salt cellars. They are hallmarked STERLING along with the Gorham mark and date it c1880s. They have been beautifully made having a classical design incorporating fish and Pan the God of nature. They are in super condition. The silver is free from dings splits repairs and dings. The glass is free from cracks chips and repairs, tiny air bubble in the base of one. They have been completely gilded but some has been lost over the years from polishing. They measures approx. 3.25 inches (8.2cm) long by over 2.25 inches (5.8cm) wide and combined weigh 264 grams with the liners and 98 grams without. A beautifully made pair.
