French Art Deco (Ca. 1920) Muller Bros. Bronze Table Lamp

1900 - 1920
Description

Beautiful French Art Deco (ca. 1920) Muller Frères Luneville bronze table lamp, the stand with a traditional design of leaves, regretfully by an unknown designer, with a nice ‘pate-de-verre’ (glass paste) lampshade in mottled tones of orange and yellow, signed (etched) with ‘Muller Strasbourg’. 41cm high x (base) 9.5cm wide x 16.5cm deep, weight 1.05kg. Can be supplied with UK/European or USA plug and bulb.

Nice original condition.

Muller Frères (Co.) was an esteemed French glassmaking company based in Luneville, France, famous for its Art Nouveau and Art Deco vases, lampshades, and chandeliers, which often incorporate layered and coloured glass. Their workshop was established by Henri Muller and his brothers in 1895 after they trained with Émile Gallé – who would retain a grudge against Muller for setting up a rival enterprise. In 1910, the company began making lamps in association with Chapelle and, at its height, employed around 300 workers. The company’s lamps – largely characterized by elegantly crafted natural-world motifs and subtle, flowing, organic forms suggested by flowers and plants – are highly sought after and make for distinctive additions to any space. Production stopped in 1933 and the factory closed three years later, a victim of the Great Depression.

We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
