Description

A superbly modelled large silver plate Christ on the Cross wall mounting. It is silver plated and marks DEPOSE DLN 145. Depose meaning patent protected was used on French pieces from the 1880's until c1930's, I would date this to c1890. It's the kind of piece that would have once been used in a church or more likely a convent. It has been beautifully modelled and finely cast and is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. All the silver plate is original and complete. It measures approx. 16 inches (40.6cm) long by 10 inches (15.6cm) wide and weighs 1042g grams. A very high quality example.
