A nice example of a brass Corinthian column table lamp dating from the late 19th century. Originally an oil lamp base, it has now been converted to an electric table lamp and re-wired with a standard bayonet bulb holder. It has a traditional column design set on a round fluted base with a black ceramic foot. It has a brass oil font with its original burner on top and within this is the bulb holder. It has a lovely amber glass shade and its original glass chimney.
It is in good working order and has been PAT Tested for electrical safety. The amber glass provides a lovely warm glow when lit up.
The lamp is in good condition. There are some minor marks and general signs of age and use and some small dinks and dents but nothing detrimental. The brass is tarnished in places but it has been lightly cleaned and polished and displays well.
