Description

A stunning rare American antique solid sterling silver and cranberry glass jug. It is hallmarked STERLING along with the makers mark of Gorham, this mark was used between c1860 to c1890. It has been beautifully made being finely pierced. Note the liner has a stem to its base to hold it in place along with a swivelling locking piece near the handle - a sign of quality. It is in super condition. The silver is free from dings splits repairs and dings. The glass is free from cracks chips and repairs. It is a good size measuring almost 5 inches (12.6cm) tall by 4.75 inches (12cm) handle to lip by 2.5 inches (6.4cm) and weighs 272 grams. A beautifully made unusual piece.
