A very impressive 19th Century Continental carved walnut cabinet of breakfront form. The up-stand having a carved village scene with houses, a mill, church and trees. Below a frieze with carved lion’s heads and tied ribbons leading to the dropdown front with egg and dart mouldings and carved historical figure. The fall opens to an interior with pigeonholes and flanked by superb carved Atlantid figures. The base section having a frieze drawer above 2 heavily carved doors with caryatids, lion heads and male figures and again flanked by impressive Atlantid figures.The whole raised on a conforming inverted breakfront and carved base, the sides having carved cartouches and complete with working locks and key.
