FAQs

Georgian wine funnels gained popularity during the 18th and early 19th centuries as essential dining table accessories for decanting aged port and claret while removing sediment.

These items were handcrafted from sterling silver using techniques such as spinning, hammering, and piercing to create the detachable mesh or strainer insert.

Authentic pieces feature clear British hallmarks indicating the assay office, date letter, and makers mark, alongside period-appropriate weight and hand-finished details.

It can be displayed on a sideboard or bar cart as part of a curated collection of polished metal tableware and vintage barware.

Maintain silver items by storing them in tarnish-resistant cloths and cleaning periodically with a gentle, non-abrasive silver polish to preserve the original finish.
