Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Edwardian silver typically features lighter, more delicate ornamentation inspired by eighteenth-century neoclassical and rococo revivals, contrasting with the heavier styles of the Victorian era.

These items were predominantly crafted from sterling silver using techniques such as stamping, repousse, chasing, and hand-finishing by silversmiths.

Authentic pieces bear British hallmarks, including a leopards head for London or other assay office symbols, a date letter corresponding to the early twentieth century, and a sterling standard mark.

It can be styled on a contemporary desk or home office surface to hold small everyday items, adding a layer of historical contrast and polished metallic texture to the workspace.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a non-abrasive silver cloth and specialised polish to maintain the original patination and prevent damage to delicate embossed details.
