Long 18th Century Glass Decanter Funnel C1760

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Exhibit Antiques

Technical Description

A rare 18th-century glass wine funnel dating to c1760. It has a large ogee bowl with a long curved spout. This particular form can be used with an 18th or 19th century decanter, the curve fitting into the shoulder, allowing it to fill down the sides of the decanter. Just as useful today and can be used with a pater filter.

From the same collection, we also have a smaller example which can be used with serving bottles as well as decanters. This is shown in the last picture.

Glass wine funnels from the 18th century rarely come onto the market.
