Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian silver is characterised by ornate ornamentation, heavily influenced by historical revival movements such as Gothic, Rococo, and Renaissance styles, alongside intricate pierced and engraved techniques.

These pieces were typically crafted from sterling silver using piercing, casting, and soldering techniques, often incorporating a removable blown glass liner in cobalt blue to protect the metal from vinegar corrosion.

Authenticity is verified through clear hallmarks stamped on the metal, which typically include the makers mark, a standard mark indicating sterling purity, a date letter, and a town assay office mark.

They can be displayed on open shelving, integrated into a dining table centrepiece arrangement, or used as small decorative display objects on a sideboard or mantelpiece.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a specialized, non-abrasive silver polish and a soft cloth to maintain the patina, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can damage the metal surface.
