A bold and fabulous Antique Kazak Rug, woven around circa 1880 and in very good original order. Rugs bearing this name come from the highland area of the Caucasus whose centre is the town of Kazak. Woven by semi-nomadic shepherds of the region. They are principally antique, though a limited number are still being made in the area today. This rug has rich deep colours, assertive, geometric drawing and a bold large-scale design. Please view all the additional images to see the natural dyes up close, and the rugs condition too.
They have earned themselves a reputation of being hard wearing and resistant to damage. They use fabulous vegetable dyes and high quality hand spun wool from their own herd. Kazak''s and rugs from the caucasus are becoming very collectable because of their varied designs and vibrant colours.
Contact us to organise viewing this exceptional rug at home or in our showroom soon. We are open Monday to Saturday by appointment and our home visits can be arranged t...hroughout the UK on a day and time to suit you.
