Silver & Blue Enamel Brooch by Norwegian Designer Aksel Holmsen

A wonderful and highly collectible brooch by the Norwegian silversmith Aksel Holmsen. The simple yet elegant design is similar to a harp, its nicely curved top tapering sharply to an angled point. Fashioned in silver with a warm gilt finish, the brooch is decorated in beautiful blue guilloche enamel with a sun ray effect.

A very striking brooch of a good size. The perfect statement piece and highly collectible by lovers of Scandinavian mid century design.

Marked Norway Sterling 925s with the makers mark for Aksel Holmsen. The brooch fastens with a simple 'c' clasp.

 

Condition: The enamel is in great condition. There are a few surface scratches to one small area of the surface visible only in certain light and mentioned for accuracy.

Period: Mid century.

 

Measurements: Height: 2.5cm Width: 6 cm Weight: 6.3 grams
