We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. The Arts and Crafts movement emphasized hand-craftsmanship, traditional techniques, and simple forms, often featuring visible hammered textures that celebrated the artisans labor over industrial perfection.

These pieces were typically crafted from solid sterling silver, frequently utilizing hand-raising and planishing techniques to create textured surfaces, and often incorporating a gilded interior wash known as vermeil.

Authenticity is verified through clear British hallmarks stamped on the metal, which include the makers mark, the standard mark for sterling silver, the town assay office mark, and the date letter corresponding to the year of assay.

An antique silver box adds a touch of historical refinement when placed on a surface like a mantelpiece or side table, contrasting effectively against modern minimalist or traditional decor.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a soft microfiber cloth and specialized silver polish designed to preserve the original patina, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can damage delicate surfaces.
