A good sized silver pill box from the late Victorian period, made by the silversmith George Unite. This excellent example is round in shape, with a deep sided body and pull of lid. The body is decorated with rounded flutes and a chased floral band to the top. The lightly domed lid has a stipple background with acanthus leaves over, along with a central shield shaped cartouche, which is vacant. The edges are crimped to aid with removal. A charming and useful example, being of good capacity. Dimensions below.
