FAQs

Victorian metal beds typically feature robust cast iron frames combined with polished brass spindles, finials, and mounts, reflecting industrial manufacturing advancements of the 19th century.

These beds were primarily constructed using heavy-duty cast iron for structural strength and malleable brass for decorative elements, finials, and corner mounts.

Authentic pieces often exhibit hand-poured iron joints, manufacturer stamps or registration marks, patinated brass components, and older imperial sizing rather than modern metric dimensions.

Pairing the metallic warmth and industrial character of the frame with crisp neutral linens and minimalist decor creates a balanced focal point that bridges traditional and modern aesthetics.

Dust regularly with a dry cloth and avoid harsh chemical polishes on aged brass to preserve the natural oxidisation and protective lacquer or patina.
