Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Tea strainers became widely used in the 18th and 19th centuries as loose-leaf tea gained popularity, requiring a device to catch leaves when pouring from pot to cup.

Traditional tea strainers are primarily constructed from sterling silver or silver-plated metals, often featuring pierced bowls and decorative handles.

Authentic pieces are identified by hallmarks stamped into the metal, indicating the assay office, maker, and standard of silver, along with traditional hand-pierced detailing.

A silver tea strainer can be displayed on a sideboard, bar cart, or open shelving as a functional decorative object that adds metallic reflection and classic charm.

Care involves gentle washing with mild soap and warm water, drying thoroughly with a soft cloth, and using specialist silver polish sparingly to maintain the finish without removing hallmarks.
