A bold and unique Ceylon sapphire ring. The sapphire in the centre - certified as natural, unheated and originating from Sri Lanka - displays a bright, soft blue with distinct and clear flashes of yellow. The stone is secured by four double-claws and flanked by six (three each side) bright white old cut diamonds in step-down boxes, to a slender 18k yellow gold shank.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut: The sapphire is cushion cut, with old mine cut diamonds.
Colour: The diamonds are F to G.
Clarity: The sapphire is clean to the naked eye. The diamonds are VS1 to VS2.
Carat: The sapphire is 8.10. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.42 carat.
Circa: 1960.
