Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1910s.
The case opens with a push button at the top an hinges at the bottom to reveal a spring loaded holder to hold a sovereign. Engine turned engraving decorates the cover of the holder and the lid interior is gilt finished. The sovereign case comes with a loop to suspend it from a fob or chain.

Condition: In good antique condition, with a very small dint to one corner of the back - hardly noticeable but mentioned for complete accuracy.
