Victorian 9ct Gold Coral Stud Earrings

19th century
Description

Chunky antique stud earrings each holding a polished coral cabochon secured with a gold bead and fully encased at the back in a nine-carat gold bezel setting. The coral is a deep orange salmon colour with a lovely glossy finish.

• Condition: The earrings are in excellent antique condition. As a natural material the corals are unique in shape and colour and under magnification have some natural surface imperfections, which is quite nice to see.

• Fixing: Posts and nine-carat gold butterfly scrolls, likely added later, possibly as a conversion from buttons or shirt studs.

• Era: Estimated Victorian (1837-1901).

• Size: Approximately 1cm diameter.

• Weight: 3.2g.

IMPORTANT! All items are vintage or antique and as such show light general wear appropriate to their age. Bear in mind photos are very magnified and flaws which can be seen in the pictures are often imperceptible to the naked eye in real life. I always do my very best to point out any additional flaws, but please look carefully at all the photos as they are an important part of the listing and do ask if you have any questions!

FREE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING! Items to UK addresses are sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery or Tracked 48, and overseas items are shipped with a tracked and signed service where available.

US-BASED BUYERS Please advise before paying if your shipping address is in the US - some (though not all) orders may incur additional taxes because of the new US tariffs but I will always do my best to minimise extra costs for you!

EASY RETURNS Any item can be returned within 14 days for a full refund. Items must be returned in the same condition they were sent out and unless an item is faulty postage will be deducted, alongside any costs (bank charges etc) which may have been incurred. If in doubt, do please ask!

PACKAGING All earrings come tissue wrapped and packaged in a new luxury box, antique boxes are for display only, unless otherwise stated in the description.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
