A very fine pair of solid silver tablespoons, by the renowned and collectable maker: Hester Bateman. Both of the spoons bear the very clear hallmarks for London 1790, along with the Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and the maker''s mark: Hester Bateman. There is a very lightly engraved monogram to the top of each spoon handle: ''S.D''. Hester Bateman is one of the most famous and world renowned female silversmiths.
The spoons are in great condition (some very light surface scratches which we mention for complete accuracy only, commensurate with age). A good heavy gauge of silver.
