We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Art Deco lighting is characterised by geometric shapes, streamlined forms, and industrial influences, often utilizing metals like brass, chrome, and bronze alongside frosted or moulded glass.

Traditional desk lamps from this period commonly featured solid brass, cast iron, spun aluminium, and flexible metal tubing to allow for adjustable lighting angles.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit period-correct wiring methods, makers marks or stamps on the base, heavy-gauge metal construction, and natural oxidisation rather than modern artificial distressing.

An antique metal lamp adds textural contrast and historical character when placed on a contemporary timber workspace, serving as both a functional task light and a sculptural focal point.

Vintage brass should be cleaned gently using a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust, avoiding harsh chemical polishes that can strip away the desirable historical patina.
