Eighteenth-century wine glasses typically feature heavy lead glass composition, drawn stems, and folded feet, reflecting the technological advancements and excise acts of the period.

These items were predominantly crafted from potash-lime glass or lead crystal, often containing impurities, air bubbles, and striations characteristic of early manufacturing techniques.

Authenticity is assessed by examining pontil marks on the base, wear scratches, glass weight, chemical composition, and specific stem formations such as air twists or opaque twists.

Antique stemware is best displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, on open shelving with adequate lighting, or utilized selectively as a focal point on a bar cart.

Antique glass should be hand washed gently in lukewarm water using mild detergent and soft cloths, avoiding sudden temperature changes and abrasive scrubbing.
